What the app stores, and where
Carex keeps the vehicles, expenses, odometer readings, fuel fill-ups, receipt images and PDFs, vehicle photos, reminder dates and settings that you enter. All of it is stored only on your device, inside the app's own storage. None of it is sent to the developer or to anyone else.
If you back up your iPhone or iPad with iCloud or a computer, that backup can include the app's data, under Apple's terms and your own backup settings.
What the app does not do
- It has no sign-in and no account.
- It collects no analytics, crash reports or usage data.
- It shows no advertising and does not track you across apps or websites.
- It makes no network requests with your data, and it contains no third-party code that collects data.
Permissions
- Camera — only when you choose Take Photo, to photograph a receipt or your vehicle.
- Photos — only when you choose a receipt image or vehicle photo from your library. Carex copies just the photo you pick.
- Notifications — for reminders about service, insurance and registration. They are scheduled on your device; nothing is sent to a server.
You can change any of these at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Exporting your data
Settings › Export Data creates a CSV file of your vehicles and expenses and opens the share sheet. The file goes only where you choose to send or save it.
Deleting your data
Settings › Reset App Data removes every vehicle, expense, receipt and photo from the app. Deleting the app removes everything it stored.
Children
Carex is not directed at children, and because it collects no data, it collects none from children either.
Changes to this policy
